Important School Update for January 24, 2022

Emerald Academy Families,

When we notified you of today’s school closure due to illness (Jan. 21, 2022), we mentioned that we would quickly work to disseminate information regarding plans for next week.

To that end, based on a waiver we received from the Tennessee Department of Education last night, we will shift to virtual learning for Monday, January 24, 2022.

Just as with in-person school, attendance will be taken each day for scholars and is mandatory.

Virtual learning may be necessary for other days next week as well, and we will be evaluating those decisions on a daily basis.

Please rest assured that we will return to in-person instruction at the earliest possible date.  We know that in-person instruction is the most effective way for scholars to learn. However, we are absolutely committed to continuing to offer rigorous, high-quality academic instruction on the virtual platform as well.

If you and your family are experiencing any difficulties related to internet connectivity or technology issues, please let us know ASAP in order to ensure that your scholar is ready for Monday.

Your scholar’s teacher will be in touch regarding the specific details of the schedule, how to navigate Google Classroom, and learning expectations. I will also be posting a general video on how to connect to Google Classroom shortly.
